These Terms govern your use of PsychApply Academy & Global (together, “PsychApply”, “we”, “us”), an online educational service for A-Level and general psychology study. By creating an account or using PsychApply, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are and what these Terms cover
PsychApply is provided under the trading name “PsychApply Academy & Global”. Our business/service address is 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. These Terms apply to everyone who visits or uses the service, whether on a free or Premium basis, on web or in the app, across both the Academy (A-Level exam revision) and Global (broader psychology) content.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are 16 or 17 you may use PsychApply with a parent or guardian’s permission.
- You can sign up with an email and password, or with Google or Apple (“Sign in with Apple”).
- You are responsible for keeping your account and login details secure, for activity on your account, and for the accuracy of the email and details you give us.
- One account per person. Accounts are personal and may not be sold, lent or shared.
- You can permanently delete your account and data at any time in Profile → Account & Data → Delete My Account.
3. The service: free and Premium content
PsychApply offers both free content (for example some quizzes, XP and streaks, leaderboard and games) and Premium content (for example exam-board revision, project brief practice, past papers and mock exams, AI Tutor, study plans, multiplayer, wellbeing tools, homework checker, writing templates and Global worlds).
Premium access is provided through a single membership — PsychApply Premium — which covers both Academy and Global Premium content in one plan.
4. PsychApply Premium — price, complimentary period and billing
- Price: £4.99 per month, recurring, until you cancel. We may change the price as set out in our Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy.
- 3-day complimentary Premium: new users are automatically given 3 days of complimentary Premium access when they sign up. No card is required and you are not charged for this.
- Complimentary Premium lasts 3 days. After those 3 days, your complimentary Premium access ends unless you subscribe.
- Subscribing during the complimentary period: if you choose to subscribe before your 3 days end, you enter the £4.99/month membership, but we use the end of your existing complimentary period as the start of your paid billing — so you are not charged until your complimentary period ends, and you keep uninterrupted Premium.
- Subscribing after the complimentary period: if you subscribe after the 3 days have ended, billing begins immediately.
- Recurring billing: once paid billing begins, your membership renews automatically each month until you cancel. Payment is taken in advance for each month.
- Before you pay: before you are taken to Stripe to set up a paid subscription, we show you the pre-contract information and ask for your express consent to the digital content being supplied immediately and your acknowledgement that, once supply has begun, you will lose your 14-day right to cancel. See our Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Full details of the customer journey, cancellation and refunds are in our Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future charges; you keep Premium access until the end of the month you have already paid for. See the Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy for how to cancel and what happens after cancellation.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- misuse the service, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or introduce malware;
- scrape, copy or redistribute content at scale, or resell access to PsychApply content;
- use PsychApply to cheat in assessed coursework or exams (for example by passing AI-generated or model work off as your own);
- harass or impersonate other users, or misuse multiplayer/leaderboard features;
- submit unlawful, harmful, infringing or abusive content to AI or study tools.
We may suspend or end access for serious or repeated breaches.
7. Your content and submissions
- You keep the rights in the content you submit (answers, essays, questions). You give us a limited licence to process your content only as needed to provide the features you use (for example sending your text to our AI processors to generate feedback).
- You confirm that what you submit is yours or you have the right to submit it, and that it is not unlawful or infringing.
8. Our content and intellectual property
PsychApply’s content (revision notes, model answers, quiz and question banks, design, branding and software) is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. You may view and use it for your own personal, non-commercial study while your account is active. You may not copy, redistribute, resell or commercially exploit it.
9. AI features and accuracy
AI-generated answers and feedback are produced by third-party AI models and may be inaccurate, incomplete or contain errors. They are study aids, not authoritative answers. Always use your own judgement, mark schemes and your teacher when it matters. See our Safety & Educational Disclaimer.
10. Educational purpose and safe use
PsychApply provides educational and informational psychology content. It is not medical, psychiatric, diagnostic or therapeutic advice, and our wellbeing and Global (including psychopathology and paranormal) content must be used with care. See our Safety & Educational Disclaimer, which forms part of these Terms.
11. Third-party content and links
PsychApply may link to, or embed, third-party content (for example exam-board resources or external videos). We are not responsible for third-party content or its accuracy. Sign-in providers (Google, Apple) and payment provider (Stripe) have their own terms and privacy practices.
12. Changes to the service and to these Terms
We may change, add or remove features and content. We may update these Terms; we will keep the “Last updated” date current and tell you about significant changes in the app or by email. Continued use after changes takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Our liability
- PsychApply is an educational aid. We do not promise particular grades, exam results or outcomes.
- The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, data or study time.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law — for example liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
- Where liability is not excluded by law, our total liability for claims connected with PsychApply is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or, if you have not paid anything, to a reasonable sum).
- These limits do not affect your statutory rights as a UK consumer.
14. Your statutory rights
These Terms do not reduce or remove any statutory rights you have under UK law (for example as a consumer). They explain how we operate the service and the basis on which we provide it.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of the United Kingdom (England and Wales). We both agree that the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, except that you may bring a claim in your local courts if you are a consumer there.
